Automobile Recalls

In order to check to see if your car, truck or other motor vehicle is on one of the many recall lists, check out the resources we have listed below. The resources we have listed will aid you in assessing if your present vehicle or future vehicle is prone to manufacturing problems.

By all means, check out these automobile recall resources if you're planning to buy new since a little research upfront may save you some giant headaches later.

Recalls.gov is one of the top websites that consumers can use to see if their car, truck or other vehicle has been recalled for any reason by the manufacturer. The Recalls.gov website offers information on motor vehicles, child safety seats, motor vehicle equipment, tire recalls and school bus recalls.

SaferCar.gov is part of the U. S. Department of Transportation. On the safercar.gov website, consumers can search for specific makes and models of cars, trucks and other vehicles that have been issued recalls. The Recalls.gov website heavily links to this website.

For both new and used cars, consumerreports.org is a place to start researching your vehicle for reviews and ratings. Another valuable resource are sites like Carfax where consumers can check the history of their vehicles including if there has been a previous accident involving the vehicle.
